I blame Skype because it was doing the same weird hanging in Task Manager without ever closing until I disabled video processing in Skype (and because of the suspicious timing). While other big-name services require you to pay for features, Tox is completely free and comes without advertising forever. Tox is easy-to-use software that connects you with friends and family without anyone else listening in. Not sure if Skype is to blame as Firefox also updated itself today. Whether its corporations or governments, digital surveillance today is widespread. After I "OK" out of that, I can't do anything but re-start the computer to get rid of firefox.exe from Task Manager.and then the cycle repeats. When I click "Close Firefox", I get a new error message that says "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. If I try to re-open Firefox from there, I get the error "Firefox is already running but is not responding". I try "End Process" and "End Process Tree" in Task Manager without success.įirefox remains as a task in Task Manager forever, even when the browser window appears closed. After about 2-3 minutes of this, Firefox will crash if left alone.Īfter that, firefox.exe remains as a process and can never be ended. Immediately after the installation of Skype, Firefox would no longer connect to the internet or load web pages (tab says "Connecting." forever). Today I was forced to upgrade to Skype 7.1.
